Organ Free is a project of up-and-coming jazz and freer expression by keyboardist Kalle Salonen, drummer Hannu Pikkarainen and trumpeter Antero Priha.
“What's important about this record is its composition and genre. Music is free improvisation on Hammond and Nord organ, trumpet and drums. Another similar line-up can hardly be found. The album was born of Kalle's desire to play totally free.
We start to experiment on Lyhty studios in Helsinki and very soon we were sure:
It works! The album is made for all open-minded music lovers. It really works for all kinds of people and does not require any prior knowledge or knowledge of free expression or music,” says Antero Priha of the album's birth process and target audience.
